Annie Oakley Park

Annie Oakley Park means family fun. Romp in the playground, stroll through the lighted trail, relax in the gazebo, or enjoy a picnic in one of the many shelters. Anytime of year enjoy the new 9 hole flying disc golf course. Annie Oakley Park is located on East Fifth Street with ample parking on the west and east sides of the park.

 

Bertrand City Park

Nestled between the Memorial Garden to the north and the Fick Fossil Museum and Oakley City Library on the south is Bertrand City Park. Walk along the .37 mile lighted walking trail viewing the scenery or enjoy a picnic. There is a wonderful playground in the southeast corner of the park and an outdoor basketball court near the center. You may park along Cherry Avenue anywhere between Third and Fifth Streets.

 

Buffalo Bill Sculpture

The Buffalo Bill sculpture, just west of 2nd St. and US-83, is one of the "8 Wonders of Kansas Art". The twice life-size bronze sculpture commemorates the 1868 contest between William F. Cody and William Comstock where the winner earned the name “Buffalo Bill”. Read the story boards, listen to the radio story recounting the historical contest, and take pictures in the Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley and Sitting Bull cut out figures. When visiting the sculpture, be sure to stop in the Buffalo Bill Cabin Gift Shop.

 

Oakley Municipal Golf Course & Country Club

The 9-hole course features 3,002 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 35. The course rating is 68.0 and it has a slope rating of 105. It features fast greens and water is in play on 3 holes. The golf course and country club are open to the public.

 

Oakley Pool

The cool pool at Annie Oakley Park is located at 5th Street and Price Avenue and was built in 1997. The pool opens on Memorial Day weekend and is open until Labor Day. This pool offers fun for all ages and includes four water-slides, a diving board and zero-depth entry. There is also a children's pool on site which provides a safe environment for younger swimmers. You can visit the pool from 1 - 5 p.m. every day of the week. The pool is also open for public swimming and private parties on some evenings.

 

Palace Theater

The Palace Community Theater shows movies each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening, as well as occasional special events. The Palace features first run movies and reasonably priced concessions.
